What We Believe
Scripture:
The Holy Bible was written by men, but was divinely inspired by God. It is the overarching story of redemption and revelation of God Himself to man. God is the author and is, therefore, inerrant. The Word of God is living and active and offers divine instruction.
God:
There is only one living and true God – the God of the Holy Bible. God’s holiness is never-ending and He is perfect in all of His ways. He is the Creator of the world, the Redeemer and Preserver of all things, and the Ruler of the universe.
Father:
God is our Heavenly Father and He reigns with divine care ofthe universe He created, as well as the creatures therein. His is all-powerful, all-wise, all-knowing and all-loving. God is Father to those who become children of God through faithin Jesus Christ.
Son:
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of His virgin mother, Mary. He is both fully God and fully man and He fulfilled the requirements of the law by His perfection and obedience. His death on the cross provided a way for all men to be redeemed from sin. He was raised from the dead after 3 days with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples. He ascended into heaven and is now sitting at the right hand ofGod. He is our Mediator, the High Priest, whose presence, ministry, and death bridged the gap left by sin and allowed for the reconciliation between God and man. He will come again, as He said He would, to judge the world and to fully carry out His mission of redemption.
Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He convicts of sin and calls men to the Savior. He is the source of the cultivation ofChristian character. He comforts believers and is the giver ofthe spiritual gifts by which believers serve God. He dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord, and seals the believer until the day of final redemption.
